Emeici

What is Emeici?

Emeici, also known as Emei daggers or Emei piercers, are traditional Chinese martial arts weapons. They originate from the Emei Mountain region in China and are often associated with various Chinese martial arts, including Kung Fu.

Emeici consist of a pair of sharp, pointed rods that are typically about 6 to 12 inches long. Each rod has a ring at the base, which allows the user to spin the weapon around their finger. This spinning action can be used both defensively and offensively, making the Emeici a versatile tool in combat. The pointed ends can be used for stabbing or slashing, while the spinning motion can confuse opponents or deflect attacks.

These weapons require a high degree of skill and dexterity to use effectively, and they are often employed in forms and demonstrations within martial arts practice.

This emphasis on the philosophy, or worldview, of aikido often makes understanding the art difficult for the beginning student. On one level, the student of aikido must adopt a worldview that accepts violence and attacks. On the other hand, aikido does not meet like with like—aikido does not retaliate with more violence and attacks.
