Master Armstrong's martial arts path began in his youth in England, where he initially engaged in boxing. His interest in martial arts deepened during his university years in London, where he explored various disciplines, ultimately gravitating towards Kung Fu for its rich cultural and philosophical depth. He became a devoted student of Grandmaster Tan Soh Tin of the Nam Yang Pugilistic Association in Singapore, training extensively in the Tiger-Crane combination style and Iron Shirt Chi Kung.

In 2007, Master Armstrong and his wife established the Nam Yang Kung Fu Retreat in the mountainous region of Pai, Thailand. The retreat offers an immersive environment where students engage in daily training, communal living, and the study of martial arts philosophy. The curriculum includes traditional Shaolin Kung Fu, Qigong, and meditation practices, aiming to develop both physical prowess and inner harmony.

Master Armstrong's teachings have reached a global audience through retreats, online courses, and international seminars. He continues to inspire martial artists worldwide, emphasizing the integration of martial arts into daily life as a path to personal growth and self-discovery.

I can show you the path but I can not walk it for you.
If you take a bus, you should know when to get off!
The Chinese words ‘kung fu’ translate more or less as ‘a man hard at work over a long time’. If you want to unlock the full power of kung fu, it is not going to be easy: you are going to have to work, you are going to have to sacrifice and you are going to have to suffer – over a long time. There really is no such thing as a free lunch.
